The National Guard Academy is expanding direct contacts with the leaders of the Republic of Latvia

Recently there was an official visit of the acting Head of the National Academy of the National Guard of Ukraine Colonel Oleksii Lunov, and officers of the Academy to the National Defence Academy of the National Armed Forces of the Republic of Latvia.

The focus was on the strengthening of double-sided connections and the initiation of new initiatives to achieve comprehensive goals in military education and training.

The official part of the visit began with a meeting with the rector of the National Defence Academy of the National Armed Forces of the Republic of Latvia, Colonel Maris Utinans. During the meeting, both sides thanked for the work within the framework of the current Memorandum and expressed readiness to work further, expand the number of events and increase the number of personnel in joint events.

During the visit to the Republic of Latvia, an Agreement on Cooperation in Educational Activities was signed between the National Academy of the National Guard of Ukraine and the State Police College of the Republic of Latvia. The Agreement provides the exchange of both teaching staff and higher education applicants, cooperation in scientific activities, namely: conducting joint research and implementing its results in educational processes.

The visit program included a visit to the Non-commissioned Officer Training School, which is based in Cēsis. The school is a structural unit of the Training Doctrine (TRADOC) and provides training for non-commissioned officers at four levels.

The Ukrainian delegation also visited the Specialist Training Center, which is located at the military base in Adažy. The capabilities of the center allow to conduct theoretical and practical training of military personnel. The center conducts training courses for specialists in many areas using modern simulators, training equipment, and simulation modeling systems.

"An important result of the visit was the strengthening of existing partnership relations between the National Defence Academy of Latvia and the National Academy of the National Guard of Ukraine. The possibilities of further cooperation were discussed, which include holding joint educational events, such as internships, exchange of experience of teaching staff, etc. In particular, the emphasis was placed on increasing the number of personnel, both instructors and lecturers, on both sides, on L1 and L2 Courses in tactical medicine (TCCC) and on increasing the number of students of the Academy at the tactical level on courses within the framework of ERASMUS EMILYO", Colonel Oleksii Lunov notes.
