The Law Enforcement Attache of the French Republic visited the NGU Academy

A meeting of a foreign delegation of the French Republic with the leadership of the NGU Academy, representatives of the Euro-Atlantic Integration Department and the Language Department was held at the National Academy of the National Guard. The French delegation was represented by the Law Enforcement Attache of the Embassy of the French Republic in Ukraine, the Liaison Officer of the Law Enforcement Attache Office of the Embassy of the French Republic in Ukraine, and the Assistant of the Law Enforcement Attache.

During the meeting, the Attache and members of the delegation got acquainted with the history of the Academy, the areas of training and the capabilities of the educational institution. Representatives discussed the prospects of possible areas of cooperation between the Academy and the educational institutions of the Gendarmerie of the French Republic.

"On behalf of myself and the staff of the Academy, I want to express my gratitude to you and the entire staff of the Embassy of France in Ukraine, thank you for the contribution of your state to our struggle for independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity. Your support cannot be overestimated! I am confident that our efforts today will contribute to the acceleration of our joint victory."

The Head of the Academy noted that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the russian federation, the Academy has undergone many changes related to the educational process. In particular, in accordance with the requirements of the times, new disciplines are introduced, best practices and the latest technologies are introduced, work is constantly being carried out to update educational programs and bring them up to the European standards.

Given the specifics of the law enforcement systems of Ukraine and France, the importance of cooperation in the field of security and defence, and to continue the good traditions already established between the National Academy of the National Guard of Ukraine and the educational institutions of the National Gendarmerie of France, it was proposed to establish formal relations between the educational institutions of the Gendarmerie of the French Republic and the Academy by signing a Memorandum of understanding and agreements of intent on cooperation.

Such cooperation is particularly on time and appropriate taking into account the signing of the “Security Agreement between Ukraine and France” in February of this year. The main message of the agreement is to support Ukraine’s integration into the European and Euro-Atlantic institutions, in particular by supporting Ukraine’s accession to the EU and interoperability with the NATO.

I am amazed how you manage to continue to live, defend the country, and continue training future officers", - Law Enforcement Attache of the Embassy of the French Republic in Ukraine Colonel Jean-Marc Chambon emphasized.

The Attache noted that cooperation should be systemic and unique so as not to duplicate the work already underway with other institutions, which will make cooperation purposeful and long-lasting.
