Guardsmen competed for the championship in functional all-around

The National Academy of the National Guard of Ukraine hosted a sports holiday for the Day of Physical Culture and Sport. Cadets from all faculties of the Academy took part in team competitions.

Cadets in teams of four completed two tasks.

So, during the first task, the boys performed 500 meters on a rowing machine and 20 thrusters with two dumbbells weighing 15 kg. The girls performed 350 meters on a rowing machine and rowers with one 15 kg dumbbell.

During the second task, the cadets performed the maximum number of repetitions in 14 minutes, namely 14 jerks with a dumbbell for boys of 15 kg, for girls of 10 kg and 14 burpees with a jump over a curb.

According to the results of the competition, the places were distributed as follows:

I place among men – course № 6 of the Command and Staff Faculty, among women – course № 5 of the Command and Staff Faculty, II place among men – course № 1 of the Command and Staff Faculty, among women – course № 2 of the Faculty of Humanities, III place among men – course № 4 of the Сommand and Staff Faculty, among women – course № 1 of the Faculty of Humanities.

"The purpose of the event is the development of sport and its popularization, involvement of military personnel in physical exercises and sport, promotion of a healthy lifestyle. All servicemen have increased their individual physical training, professional level and readiness to perform assigned tasks", –  Нead of the Department of Physical Training and Sport Colonel Artem Turchynov says.

At the end of the competition, the winning teams received certificates of honor and cups.

"Lecturers at the Academy make every effort to harden you as much as possible for future sports achievements and further service. So build your potential. I wish you, Guardsmen, success in sport and victories", – acting Deputy Head of the Academy Lieutenant Colonel Maksym Daniielian addressed the Guardsmen.  

One of the participants of the holiday, a second-year cadet of the Faculty of Humanities, soldier Yelyzaveta Zhylytsia, has been involved in sport since childhood, and systematically participates in various competitions at the Academy.

“Sport is a second life for me”, –  the cadet shares. – “I am convinced that sport is a vital necessity for everyone. Thanks to physical endurance, I understand that I am moving in the right direction, and this motivates me and helps me correctly determine life priorities.”
