Representatives of the Academy are expanding areas of cooperation with the Kingdom of Sweden

At the invitation of the official partner of the Academy, the National Defense University of the Kingdom of Sweden, a delegation of five representatives of the National Guard of Ukraine, including four representatives of the Academy and a representative of the Headquaters, visited the Kingdom of Sweden.

The meeting began with a visit to one of the divisions of the military equipment manufacturer "SAAB", located in Karlskoga. The servicemen were shown a presentation on anti-tank weapons and the line of ammunition for them, which the company produces. The guardsmen visited the production facilities and talked with leading managers in the areas.

Later, the delegation visited the Royal Guards Infantry Regiment, where they got acquainted with the activity of the regiment and its main tasks. Part of the visit was dedicated to the demonstration of the practical use of simulation systems manufactured by the manufacturer "SAAB" during personnel training, in particular, systems for collective training. The possibility of a visit of representatives of the regiment to the National Academy of the National Guard of Ukraine was also discussed in order to exchange experience and develop long-term partnerships.

The next day, the military personnel visited the Karlberg Military Academy, which trains junior officers. The delegation learned about the history of the educational institution, the curricula, and the conditions of studying and living of the cadets.

Finally, the representatives of the Academy visited the Swedish Defence University, which is a leading institution for training and research in the field of crisis management and military sciences. At the university, the servicemen of the Academy held a number of meetings dedicated to the topics of courses for senior officers. The pilot "Strategic Leadership Course" was presented, on which the Academy lecturers were also invited as experts in the field of military-law enforcement and military-civilian cooperation within the framework of planning stabilization measures in the system of measures of national resilience and comprehensive defense.

"The Swedish Defence University and its internal partners, the manufacturing company "SAAB" are determined to comprehensively support both the National Guard and the initiatives of the Academy to join a single European family of equal universities. All meetings were very productive and were structured in such a way to provide maximum support to the initiatives that the Academy has already voiced. We hope that from the next year, all agreements will be set out in a joint action plan for 2025 and the most important ambitious task for us and the Swedish Defence University is to fulfill this plan", –  First Deputy Head of the Academy for Educational and Methodological Work Colonel Vladyslav Yemanov said.

Thus, during the meetings, representatives of both sides discussed areas of further cooperation, internship and advanced training of lecturers and higher education applicants in various areas, joint study of the combat experience of the National Guard of Ukraine, and analysis of the military history of the current conflict.
