Expanding opportunities: cadets of the NANGU will undergo training in operating reconnaissance unmanned vehicles "Sirko" and "Valkyrja"
Cadets of the National Academy of the National Guard of Ukraine will undergo training in operating unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) "Sirko" and "Valkyrja" types.
"Sirko" is a tactical reconnaissance UAV of the fixed-wing aircraft type. It provides a tactical range of up to 30 km. It has a wingspan of 93 cm and is considered ultralight, as it weighs only 1.37 kg. The battery charge is enough to cover a distance of up to 130-140 km at an altitude of up to 1 km. This UAV can be in the air for up to two hours.
"Valkyrja" is an unmanned aviation complex for military and civilian purposes to provide monitoring, aerial reconnaissance, video surveillance, and artillery fire correction day and night.
Valkyrie has long-range encrypted digital telemetry, as well as analog online video streaming for all payload types as an additional option. Wingspan 160 centimeters, flight time 120 minutes, takeoff weight 3.5 kg, radio horizon 35 km.
"An important area of training at the Academy is UAV control classes. "Sirko" and "Valkyrja" are the "eyes" of the military, the crews launch them along the front line or into the enemy's rear, looking for enemy forces, equipment, ammunition, the operator collects and transmits all the intelligence to adjust fire and destroy the enemy. This is a powerful intelligence tool that, firstly, saves the lives of our military, and, secondly, prevents the enemy from dominating the battlefield. It will help the guards determine the location of enemy’s positions", – combat training instructor Junior Sergeant Oleh Volynchuk says.
The crews of the “Sirko” or “Valkyrja” control consist of three servicemen, they deploy the complex on the ground, check its operability, configure the software and launch the board into the air. After that, they monitor the flight on a computer and make corrections, during the flight of the board the crew analyzes and transmits the received data.
Upon completion of the mission, the crew returns the aircraft and retreats to safer positions.
It is important to note that both UAVs, on which the Academy cadets will be trained, are of Ukrainian production.
