Strength, endurance and team spirit. The winners of the functional all-around competition were determined at the Academy

CrossFit tournament was held at the National Academy of the National Guard of Ukraine.

The Head of the Department of Physical Training and Sport Colonel Artem Turchynov was the chief judge of the competition.

Eleven male and three female cadet teams from all faculties participated in the competition.

The teams performed three complexes.

The first complex for girls included:

A. Performing the maximum number of repetitions of raising the torso on an inclined bench for 4 minutes;

B. 4 laps in 18 minutes: 400 meters run (of which carrying of a 15 kg box for 100 meters), 15 deadlifts with a 35 kg barbell, 15 box squats with a 15 kg dumbbell).

The first complex for boys included:

A. Perform the maximum number of repetitions of pull-ups on the crossbar in a free style in a 9 kg body armor for 4 minutes;

B. 4 laps in 18 minutes: 400 meters run (including carrying a 15 kg box over the head for 100 meters), 15 deadlifts with a 50 kg barbell, 20 box raises with a 15 kg dumbbell in a 9 kg body armor.

The second complex for girls included:

1 lap in 20 minutes: 80 calories of deadlift, 80 chest lifts + push-ups with a 10 kg dumbbell, dragging a 15 kg box for 40 meters, 80 lunges with a 10 kg disc over a head, carrying a 16 kg kettlebell for 200 meters.

The second complex for the boys included:

1 lap in 20 minutes: 100 calories of deadlifts, 80 chest lifts + push-ups with a 15 kg dumbbell, dragging a box lying down weighing 15 kg for 60 meters, 80 lunges with one 15 kg dumbbell above the head, carried a 24 kg kettlebell for 200 meters.

"Functional all-around competitions at the Academy are becoming a powerful incentive for educating leaders who are able to act in stressful conditions and unite the team's efforts to achieve a common goal. This direction is an important element in the training of military personnel, as it provides comprehensive development of physical and psychological skills necessary to perform official tasks in difficult and unpredictable conditions", – Colonel Artem Turchynov notes.

According to the results of the competition, the places were distributed as follows:

Among the boys' teams:

1st place was won by the Course № 6 of the Command and Staff Faculty;

2nd place was won by the Course № 4 of the Command and Staff Faculty;

3rd place was won by the Course № 1 of the Command and Staff Faculty.

Among the girls' teams:

1st place was won by the Course № 5 of the Command and Staff Faculty;

2nd place was won by the Course № 1 Faculty of Humanities;

3rd place was won by the Course № 2 Faculty of Humanities.

According to one of the judges of the competition, Lieutenant Yaroslav Bondarenko, the complexes were selected by lecturers and instructors in such a way that each serviceman could perform them technically correctly and not get injured, and so that each participant felt the emotions that are always found in functional all-around.

"Personally I want to note the winners of these competitions, the guys from course № 6. These excellent cadets, who are an example for everyone, have coped very well with the tasks. They are currently in the national team and in the future plan to compete in regional and all-Ukrainian competitions", –  the officer adds.

The winners were awarded transitional cups and diplomas.
