Graduates of the Academy have completed their studies and are ready to perform service and combat tasks in units of the NGU

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi took part in the celebrations on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the creation of the National Guard of Ukraine and the graduation of officers from the National Academy of the National Guard of Ukraine and the Kyiv Institute of the National Guard.

"For ten years, the word "Guard" has meant pride and strength, the necessary result in battle and reliability for the state of Ukraine. At the beginning, in 2014, this word - "Guard" - began with the meaning "volunteer". Now it is also stored. And every year adds another value to our National Guard of Ukraine, namely irreplaceability", –  the Head of the State emphasized.

He noted that National Guardsmen, along with other soldiers of the Defence and Security Forces, take part in battles against russia, fight hard and bravely. In particular, the air reconnaissance units of the National Guard are extremely effective in terms of the number of destroyed russian equipment and soldiers of the enemy. More than 500 mobile and stationary fire groups of the NGU destroy russian missiles and drones every day. And the National Guard sappers clear Ukrainian land of the russian mines.

"Defence of Kharkiv and defence of Kyiv region. Fighting against russian terrorists 2014 in Donbas and defence of life in Donbas now. Heroism in the toughest confrontations. Ukraine will always be grateful to the soldiers of the National Guard, in particular the soldiers of the "Azov" unit, who defended Mariupol and Azovstal. We remember all Ukrainians, all defenders of Mariupol - all members of "Azovov" who are now in russian captivity. The state is doing everything possible to return them home, and I am grateful to all our institutions and especially to international mediators who help us with it", -  the President said.

During the event, graduates of the Academy said goodbye to the battle flag of the institution of higher education.

The President presented state awards to the servicemen of the National Guard of Ukraine. In turn, the young lieutenants presented the head of state the chevron of the National Academy of the National Guard of Ukraine.
