Cadets of the special forces group of the Command and Staff Faculty of the National Academy of the National Guard of Ukraine practiced mountain training skills.

During the training, the instructor explained issues related to the movement of personnel on rocky terrain, belaying in the mountains, and transporting the wounded in mountain conditions.

"Conducting combat operations in mountainous conditions requires maximum training and is significantly different from performing tasks on the plain. It is important to fully master all mountaineering techniques, because your life will depend on it, first of all", – Senior Instructor, Head of the Parachute Service, Colonel Volodymyr Khalep notes. "Practical training is a good school of leadership and teamwork, because the actions of personnel in mountainous conditions require coordination of the military unit."

The guys practically practiced climbing and descending rocks, insurance and self-insurance rules, and also prepared for transporting a wounded or injured person on rocky terrain.

"Today we received the initial practical skills of using special launching devices when performing special tactical exercises. Actions in the mountains require appropriate preparation and training, in particular, the ability to use mountain equipment. When you realize that you can do everything, fear disappears and even more confidence appears", – a cadet of the Command and Staff Faculty Oleksandr shares.
