Faculty of Logistics

1. Historical reference.

The specialties of the modern Faculty of Logistics have a long history of their formation and its beginning dates back to December 31, 1931, when cadets began to study military food and bread baking, technical means of logistics services, technology of tailoring and repair of military clothing, footwear and equipment, issues of joint military supply and financing on the basis of the second border guard school.
In 2018, the Faculty of "Logistics" was created, which combined Faculty №2 "Engineering and Technical" and Faculty №3 "Economics and Management". The Faculty of Logistics is the main structural unit of the National Academy of the National Guard of Ukraine, which includes six departments and three units of cadets.

2. Who is trained by the faculty.

The faculty trains recepients of higher education in the field of knowledge:
- 25 "Military sciences, national security, security of the state border" by specialties 254 "Supply of troops (forces)", 255 "Armament and military equipment";
- 07 "Management and administration" in specialty 073 "Management";
- 27 "Transport" specialty 274 "Automobile transport".

The training of those  higher education recepients is carried out at the first (Bachelor's) level of higher and tactical level of military education with a duration of 4 years. Training of tactical-level officer personnel is carried out in the field of knowledge - 25 "Military sciences, national security, security of the state border" in the specialty - 255 "Armament and military equipment", specializations "Operation and restoration of automobiles and combat vehicles of units of the National Guard of Ukraine", "Operation and restoration of missile, artillery and shooting weapons of the NGU units". After graduation, they acquire a qualification - a Bachelor's degree in armaments and military equipment, operation and restoration of automobiles and combat vehicles of NGU units, tactical-level officer.

Training of tactical-level officer personnel is also carried out in the field of knowledge - 25 "Military sciences, national security, security of the state border" in the specialty - 254 "Supply of troops (forces)", specialization "Logistics of the NGU units". After graduation, they acquire qualifications - Bachelor's degree in support of troops (forces), logistics support of the NGU, officer of the tactical level.

The training of those higher education recepients is also carried out at the second (Master's) level of higher and tactical level of military education with a duration of 1.5 years. The training of tactical-level officer personnel is carried out in the field of knowledge - 25 "Military sciences, national security, security of the state border" in the specialty - 255 "Armament and military equipment", specializations "Operation and restoration of automobiles and combat vehicles of military units of the National Guard of Ukraine", " Operation and restoration of missile, artillery and small arms of the NGU"; by specialty - 254 "Logistics of troops (forces)", by specialization "Logistics of military units of the National Guard of Ukraine".

Training of higher education recepients at the expense of individuals and legal entities is carried out at the first (Bachelor's) level of higher education with a duration of 4 years in the field of knowledge 073 "Management and administration", specialty 073 "Management".

Training of higher education recepients at the expense of individuals and legal entities is carried out at the first (Bachelor's) level of higher education for a duration of 4 years. Field of knowledge 27 "Transport", specialty 274 "Automotive transport".
At the second (Master's) level of higher education, the study period is 1.5 years. Field of knowledge 27 "Transport", specialty 274 "Automotive transport", specialization "Automobiles and automotive industry".

After completion of studies, graduates receive state diplomas.

3. Scientific and pedagogical staff.

The faculty includes six departments:
- "Engineering Mechanics";
- "Rocket and artillery weapons";
- "Armored vehicles";
- "Management and Finance";
- "Logistics of subdivisions";
- "Fire training".

Today, 6 Doctors of Science and 44 Doctors of Philosophy teach at the faculty's departments, including 6 Professors and 37 Associate Professors. 1 scientific and pedagogical worker is an Honored Worker of Education of Ukraine. Scientific and pedagogical workers have combat experience - 100%. Lecturers of the departments have significant experience in scientific and pedagogical activity and practical service in the military, scientific and pedagogical experience and combat experience in performing tasks.

4. Achievements of  of higher education recepients.

Scientific and pedagogical staff of departments take an active part in the preparation of cadets and students for participation in All-Ukrainian competitions of student scientific works.

5. The most famous graduates.

- A graduate of 1991 - Reserve Major General Kulyk Oleh Yevhenovych, from 2016 to 2019 held the position of Deputy Commander of the National Guard of Ukraine on Logistics - Chief of Logistics.
- Graduate of 1986 - Lieutenant General Nabok Oleksandr Mykolaiovych, since 2019 the head of the Western Operational Territorial Unit of the National Guard of Ukraine.

- 1988 graduate - Reserve Major General Danyliak Volodymyr Oleksiiovych, from 2005 to 2010 he held the position of Deputy Chief of Logistics of the Main Directorate of Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
- Graduate of 1986 - Colonel Matuzka Serhii Mykhailovych, Head of the Internal Audit Department of the Main Directorate of the National Guard of Ukraine.

6. Additional information.

Military servicemen who have obtained higher education and have obtained the level of higher education "Bachelor" can be appointed to the following positions: officer of the logistics support department, chief (assistant chief) of the food service of the unit, chief (assistant chief) of the material service of the unit, chief of the fuel  service unit, chief (assistant chief) of the housing and maintenance service; the commander of the platoon of material and technical support of the unit; chief weapons repair workshop; chief (assistant chief) of the missile and artillery armament service of the unit; the commander of the automobile platoon, the commander of the repair platoon, the chief of the automobile service of the unit, the chief of the armored service of the unit.

Military servicemen who have obtained a higher education and have obtained the Master's level of higher education can be appointed to the following positions: (chief) assistant chief of the food service of the unit, (chief) assistant chief of the material service of the unit, head of the fuel and service of the unit, the chief (assistant chief) of the housing and operating service of the unit; chief of the weapons repair workshop of the unit; the chief of the vehicle service of the unit, the chief of the armored service of the part of the unit.

Training of civilian specialists.

It is carried out according to the state order and under the contract form of training in the specialties "Automotive transport" and "Management". After graduation, students can work in the field of transport and transport infrastructure in the primary positions of mechanical engineer, design technician (mechanic), chief engineer, technological engineer at transport information support enterprises, in automobile service centers, at company and dealer centers automobile and repair plants, in marketing and transport services, in the system of material and technical support of wholesale and retail trade in transport equipment, spare parts, etc. For students who have mastered the program at the "Master's" educational level, scientific and pedagogical activities also become available.

For the training of specialists in specialties, which take place at the faculty, the departments use:

- combat and training weapons of the Fire Training Department;

- weapons and equipment of the battalion to support the educational process;
- military equipment and field training and material base of the Training Center of the National Academy;
- information and computing center of the National Academy;
- reading room of the scientific and technical library of the National Academy;
- methodological office of the National Academy;
- a complex of technical and logistics support;
- training base of Departments.

In accordance with the training programs and training plans, according to the order of the commander, cadets of all years of training are given military internships and practices with the aim of consolidating theoretical knowledge and acquiring practical skills for working in assigned positions.
Military internships are conducted in basic military units of the National Guard of Ukraine.
