Operational Faculty

1. Historical reference.

The training of operational and tactical level officers at the educational institution (Military Institute of Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine) was started in 2003. Then, within the Faculty of Postgraduate Education and Training of Specialists on a contract basis, a structural Master's Degree subdivision was formed. The first recruitment to the Master's degree subdivision was carried out by two specialties: logistics and technical. In 2006, in connection with the transformation of the Military Institute into the Academy of Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, significant organizational and personnel changes took place, instead of 2 faculties, 4 faculties were formed: "Command and Staff", "Engineering and Technical", "Economics and Management" , "Humanitarian". As a result  Master's Degree Course, as a separate structural unit, was disbanded, and students of full-time and part-time forms of training of Command, Educational, Logistics and Technical profiles became part of the corresponding newly formed faculties. Since September 1, 2018, on the basis of the order of the Commander of the NGU № 431 dated July 27, 2018 "On organizational and staffing measures in the National Guard of Ukraine" and with the aim of implementing a unified approach to the training of officers of the operational and tactical level of military education, the operational and tactical faculty has been established .  According to the order of the Commander of the National Guard of Ukraine dated October 21, 2020 № 450 "On the organization of staff events in the National Guard of Ukraine", the Operational and Tactical faculty was reorganized into the Operational faculty. According to the order of the Head of the Academy of the National Guard of Ukraine dated December 29, 2020, it was announced that relevant changes were made to staff № 05/0320 of the National Academy of the National Guard of Ukraine. 

2. Who is trained by the faculty.
The faculty train military specialists with higher education in the field of 25 military sciences knowledge, national security, security of the state border at the second (Master's) level of higher education, 3 specialties of operational military education level: 251 State security, 253 Military management (by types of Armed Forces), 254 Support of troops (forces).

Upon completion of studies, graduates receive state diplomas and qualifications according to the chosen specialties:

• Master of state security, service and combat activity of military units and formations of the National Guard of Ukraine for ensuring state security with three professional qualifications:
- service and combat activity, management of actions of formations of the National Guard of Ukraine, operational level officer;
- organization of logistical support for formations of the National Guard of Ukraine, operational level officer;
- organization of work with personnel in formations of the National Guard of Ukraine, operational level officer
• Master of military administration (by types of Armed Forces), service and combat applying, management of actions of military units and formations of the National Guard of Ukraine, operational level officer;
• Master of supporting troops (forces), organization of technical support of military units and formations of the National Guard of Ukraine, operational level officer;
• Master of supporting  troops (forces), organization of logistics support of military units and formations of the National Guard of Ukraine, operational level officer;
• Master of supporting troops (forces), moral and psychological support of service and combat activity of military units of the National Guard of Ukraine, operational level officer

3. Scientific and pedagogical staff. 

The faculty includes three graduating departments:

• Department of State Security and Operational Art;
• Department of Management and Logistics;
• Department of work with personnel organization;

The educational process at the faculty is provided by 28 scientific and pedagogical workers, including:

3 PhDs;
3 professors;
19 candidates of sciences;
19 associate professors;
3 have the honorary title "Honored Education Worker of Ukraine";

4. Achievements of higher education recipients.

Among the students of the faculty there are participants and winners of all-Ukrainian competitions of scientific works, winners of the championships of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

5. Additional information.

For studying at the second (Master's) level of higher education, the operational level of military education for full-time and part-time forms of education are enrolled officers who obtained  Bachelor's degree (educational and qualification level of a specialist) and completed their service time equal to the time of study for obtaining previous higher education.
