Representatives of the Canadian Armed Forces will train freshmen cadets for two weeks

Representatives of the Joint Operational and Tactical Group of the Canadian Armed Forces in Ukraine (Operation UNIFIER) will conduct training with freshmen cadets of the National Academy of the National Guard of Ukraine. Classes lasts from the 8 September to 19 September and will be held at the training center of the Academy.

Foreign representatives began work at the NGU educational institution to get acquainted with and participate in the initial military training of cadets. Classes will be conducted by 5 UNIFIER instructors.

During a formal meeting of the leadership of the Academy with Canadian military, both sides emphasized the effectiveness of joint training and the importance of the NATO standards implementation in the training process.

"Such format of work is extremely important in the process of modern officers training. The cadets will have the opportunity to get knowledge from foreign representatives during the initial military training course, – said the chief of the Academy, Lieutenant General Serhii Sokolovskyi.

During the acquaintance with the education and training base of the training center of the Academy, the instructors from the UNIFIER operation emphasized the importance of conducting trainings not only with the cadets, but also with the instructors. They praised the opportunities for practical training and professional development of future officers at the training center.

"We are extremely pleased to have the opportunity to train cadets of the Academy, most of them are on the path of military service for the first time. For two weeks, my colleagues and I will try to give as much knowledge as possible, emphasized the cooperation officer and the commander of the NGU training group of the Joint Operational and Tactical Group of the Canadian Armed Forces in Ukraine, Major Christopher Tymchak. – An important component of our cooperation will be the providing of information on the interaction of commanders with personnel, as well as specialized skills in tactics, fire training, military topography and tactical medicine."

It is expected that classes will be held throughout the day, and at the end there will be a discussion of the results and summarizing between foreign instructors and teachers of the National Guard Academy. In addition, the Canadian military will take part in the field training, which will take place after the completion of the initial military training.
