The National Academy of the National Guard of Ukraine hosted a meeting of representatives of the Joint Operational and Tactical Group of the Armed Forces of Canada in Ukraine (Operation UNIFIER) with the governance and officers of the educational institution.

The main purpose of the meeting was to acquaint foreign representatives with the activities of the Academy and the system of training future officers of the National Guard. The participants of the meeting discussed the main direction of work of the 10th rotation of the Canadian military.

«We have conducted an in-depth analysis of our mission over the years. Cooperation with the National Guard is one of the most promising areas. We have already done a lot of work to improve the training of sergeants in the Training Center of Zolochiv. And now we have a new goal - a gradual increase in joint exercises and trainings right here at the Academy. It's nice to see your thirst for change and improvement. Professionals work and serve in the National Guard, and we are ready to cooperate», - said Major Peter Costello, Commander and Liaison Officer, Commander of the UNIFIER Operation NGU Training Group.

During the briefing, the participants discussed options for possible work in the training of cadets. Foreign experts noted that they are focused on productive work this year and they are even expanding the number of instructors and officers of the operation to cooperate with the NGU.

The head of the Academy, Lieutenant General Serhiy Sokolovsky, noted the readiness to implement joint projects for personnel training and cooperation with Operation UNIFIER: “In addition, it should be noted that we have already successfully tested joint training of freshmen during initial military training. We will continue this option of training and consider options to expand the involvement of foreign specialists, "he said.

We remind you that the last rotation of the Canadian military for two weeks conducted joint training of freshmen. The trainings took place in the Training Center, the instructor together and the teachers of the Academy taught fire, tactical training, topography and tactical medicine.

It should also be noted that their participation in language training, seminars on gender issues and leadership qualities of cadets was discussed with foreign experts. Representatives of Operation UNIFIER stated that they were ready to consider the possibility of attracting several representatives of the mission to the Academy for a long time. Representatives of the Euro-Atlantic Integration Division invited mission members to participate as speakers in training modules organized by the NATO Liaison Office's Professional Development Program in Ukraine.

Cadets of the Faculty of Humanities also took part in the event. Prospective officers are regularly recruited for translation during international cooperation events at the Academy.
