UNIFIER instructors conducted training with officers of the Academy

Classes for military of the Academy with the participation of instructors of the UNIFIER operation of the Canadian Armed Forces in Ukraine began at the training center of the National Academy of the National Guard of Ukraine.

Foreign specialists conducted training with platoon commanders who train recruits during initial military training.

"The knowledge that we will provide to the guards of the Academy for two weeks is extremely important for a Ukrainian army officer. Your training system is actively moving towards the NATO standards. Today, our goal is to possibility to instructors who train recruits to understand the NATO standards and processes", - said the instructor of the Joint Operational and Tactical Group of the Canadian Armed Forces in Ukraine.

During the day, officers of the Academy worked with topographic maps using NATO military coordinate system. The military men learned to determine the location, coordinates of various objects, directions of movement, determined azimuths taking into account the magnetic deviation.

During the classes, the main emphasis is on the further use of methodical material for classes with cadets of the National Academy of the National Guard of Ukraine.

"Thanks to our foreign partners, we will give freshmen a general idea about the NATO training system. Then we will conduct training with the help of our instructors. The course officers have already received a base on military topography, taking into account the peculiarities of the NATO system", – said the deputy head for educational work of the Faculty of Logistics – the head of the educational unit, Lieutenant Colonel Yaroslav Pavlov.

In the following days, UNIFIER instructors will hold joint classes with the exerts of the Academy for cadets who are undergoing initial military training. Cadets will gain specialized skills according to the NATO standards in tactics, fire training, military topography and tactical medicine.
